Raider baseball drops Saturday’s twin bill

POPLAR BLUFF – The Three Rivers baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader against Marshalltown 9-6 and 7-6. The Raiders came away with a split in the four-game series.

In game one, the Raiders had a 5-2 lead going into the fifth, but Marshalltown scored four runs in the frame and never looked back.

Zach Haygood was saddled with the loss coming in from the bullpen. At the plate, Kolton Poorman went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a couple of runs scored.

In the second game, the Raiders had a 6-5 lead through three innings, but Marshalltown was able to tie it up in the fourth and took the lead in the top half of the seventh off reliever Tyson Dias.

The Raiders enter the new week with a record of 11-10 as they'll jump into Region XVI play at Jefferson College on Thursday before hosting the Vikings on Saturday.
