Coach Stacey Burkey enters his 33rd year at Three Rivers; his 27th as the head baseball coach.
Efforts in the areas of scheduling and recruiting are continuing to bring quality athletes to Three Rivers, while at the same time, giving those players competition against some of the best teams in junior college baseball. Three Rivers has continually been an excellent stepping stone for sophomores to further their baseball and academic careers at 4-year schools. Thirty-eight of Burkey's pupils have spent time in professional baseball with four reaching the major league level.
A native of Springfield, MO, Burkey compiled a four-year pitching record of 23-9 at TRC and Southwest Missouri State University (Now Missouri State). He received a B.S.E in 1987 at MSU and a M.S.E. in 1990 from Arkansas State University. He pitched professionally for the independent Long Island Whalers of the Empire State Baseball League in Long Islant, NY.
