Raiders fall in extras to start 0-2

MILLINGTON, Tenn. — It took all of a day for the Raiders to play their first extra innings game of the season. Three Rivers College dropped both games of their opening day slate, losing to Volunteer State 4-1, and to Lincoln Trail 6-4 in eight innings in the nightcap. The Raiders took an early lead on Lincoln Trail with two runs in the first inning, only to have Lincoln Trail tie it up in the sixth inning and tack on two more in the top of the eighth.

Lincoln Trail faced one over the minimum after Three Rivers scored its fourth run in the fourth inning. Dylan Kater and Ryan Hunter scored for Three Rivers in the first inning. Blaze Speas reached on an error in the second and scored. DJ Dowdy, running for Christain Deen, scored in the fourth. Garyn Stewart got Three Rivers' only run in the opener against Volunteer State. He got a full-count single in the first inning and worked his way around the bases with some small ball. The Raiders (0-2) stranded five runners in scoring position across four innings. Volunteer State got two men on thanks to walks in the second inning and they scored on a single to right. It added two more runs in the fifth.
