- Cheer Team Application and Waiver

2011 – 2012 TRYOUTS

Thank you for your inquiry about the cheer program at Three Rivers College. The following will give you some information about open practices, clinic and tryouts. You must bring the waiver with you to your first open practice and it must be signed by you and your parent/guardian if under 21 years of age. We are continuing to build a competition program and will compete this year, so please take this into consideration.

Tryouts for the 2011 – 2012 Raider Cheer Team will be held April 14, 15, 16, 2011. We will have a clinic on April 14, 15, from 6 –8 pm at Three Rivers Gym. The actual tryouts will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Ozark Gymsports, 1911 speedway Drive.

. Those trying out must attend the clinic, as this is when we will teach what you need to know. The following is what will be expected at tryouts, but this could change: chant, cheer, toe touch, dance and flexibility; partner stunts – required: toss shoulders, toss hands or higher, at least, for new people, higher for returning people. Required tumbling: Standing backhand spring, or higher. I very much encourage MALES to tryout, experience and tumbling is great, but not needed, just the desire and enthusiasm. The attire for clinic days is comfortable clothing for workouts – no nylon or other slick shorts. On tryout day you should wear: PLAIN BLACK SHORTS, PLAIN WHITE T-SHIRT (MALES), PLAIN BLACK SPORTS BRA (FEMALES), white socks, PLAIN WHITE TENNIS SHOES. All participants must make their own arrangements for lodging if they must stay over during tryouts. Two (2)WRITTEN RECOMMENDATIONS are required.

Those who make the team will be on full tuition scholarship, in / out of district or state; this does not cover food, housing, books, etc. If you make the team, it WILL BE MANDATORY THAT YOU LIVE IN CAMPUS HOUSING (you will get a discount), unless you live in Poplar Bluff or not more than 30 minutes away with your parent(s) / Guardian.

We would like for you to join us and be a part of the Raider Excitement for the coming year. We will have open practices on April 12, 13, 2011 at 6 pm – 9 pm at Three Rivers Gym

We would like for you to join us and be a part of the Raider Excitement for the coming year. If you have any questions, please contact Jason Hoseney or 573-840-6689.
